The Fedrigoni Mountain by Alex and Hattie
The Fedrigoni Mountain by Alex and Hattie
In 2008 Fedrigoni UK announced the opening of its revolutionary London showroom "a place for paper", where printers, end users, designers and specifiers can come and discuss their paper requirements with the wide range of creative papers Fedrigoni can provide. This year Fedrigoni UK is running a number of exciting projects to raise its profile with both creative designers and printers alike.

Working alongside illustrator Hattie Newman and graphic designer Alex Ostrowski Fedrigoni has forged a close creative partnership and the pair has been commissioned by Fedrigoni UK to curate an exciting creative project in its London Showroom during the month of April.

The Project - The Fedrigoni Mountains
Inspired by Verona's surrounding snow-capped Dolomites, this project entitled 'The Fedrigoni Mountains', is a 3D installation of twelve rocky peaks built using some of Fedrigoni's speciality papers.

The sculpture will provide the stimulus for a further twelve intrepid illustrators to visualise an imaginary exploration of the mountains. Each of the 12 'explorers', including Nicholas Saunders, Kate Moross and Marcus Oakley, will be invited to take away a B1 sheet of paper during March and conjure up a speculative interpretation of one area of the mountains. All twelve 'explorers' must articulate their own fantasies of discovery by working directly onto their sheet. These visual anecdotes may be literal, abstract, colourful, dark, and/or illustrative - who knows what tales they will return with?. The finished works will then be displayed in Fedrigoni's Showroom.

Exhibition - 31st March 09
On Tuesday 31st March, after a month of exploration, Fedrigoni UK will host an exhibition celebrating the 12 discoveries of each explorer, alongside The Fedrigoni Mountains themselves. Clients, printers, end users and designers will be invited to attend the launch of the exhibition on the 31st March or visit anytime during the month of April to view at their leisure.

For further information or to attend the exhibition please call Pari Taylor at Fedrigoni on 020 7243 3068.
