Rosanna Rossi Greetings based in Evesham, Worcestershire is a relative newcomer to the greeting card sector. Working in partnership with paper manufacturer Fedrigoni UK's greeting card specialist and printer Print 4 Ltd, they have recently launched their first collection of luxurious greeting cards printed onto Tintoretto Mono Stucco.
The collection combined the skills and expertise of this mother and daughter team. Filippa Whitford is a well-respected and experienced illustrator and Anna Whitford a textile designer. The card collection utilised their talents of fine art painting with a contemporary look, combined with textiles.
Filippa of Rosanna Rossi Greetings commented "This was a relatively new venture for us and it proved to be a huge learning curve. We wanted a sheet that was both tactile and appealing without compromising on the finished printed result. Fedrigoni helped us in so many ways advising on print, production to finding the right material for the job. We opted for their board range Tintoretto Mono Stucco as it has a special surface treatment that gave surprising print brilliance together with the perfect reproduction of every detail; performing like a coated grade. However the look and feel was also critical as we needed a tactile texture with a creamy finish to enhance our designs to the maximum. Its environmental credentials were also a consideration for us; Stucco Tintoretto is an FSC certified product ensuring it is produced using raw materials that are processed, transformed, manufactured and distributed through a managed 'chain of custody'. Fedrigoni and Print 4 helped and advised us with the print and finishing techniques and we are thrilled with the finished collection which is already attracting much interest in the market and at a recent trade fair. "
Mel Holme, Fedrigoni's Greeting Card Specialist, has over 9 years experience in the paper, print and greeting card sectors. Mel proved to be a pivotal link in the whole process right from advising and selecting Tintoretto Mono Stucco board, through to working in partnership with Rossi Greetings and the printers to make sure the production process ran as smooth as possible.
Mel said "This was the first collection that Rosanna Rossi Greetings has put together and it was vital that they had the support and correct advice all the way along the production process from initial design through to print and retailing. I worked closely with Rossi to ensure that the card collection was as desirable, saleable and ultimately cost effective as possible."
The range was printed in four colours, with foil blocking, embossing, UV varnish and even flitter varnish by Print 4 Ltd of Nottingham. Sales Executive Kevan Shipley added "Print 4 has been producing prestigious greeting cards and P.O.S. for a number of blue chip clients for many years, our expertise in this field means that we were able to support and help Rossi Greetings with this exciting new project.
